70s Fashion

Hairstyle which was Popular in 70s Fashion

Hair adds on to the personality of an individual, it is a very precious thing for all. So they make up different styles with their hair, so as to look different and elegant. Change is the law of nature and nothing remains the same for a longer period of time, though it may come back later. Even the hairstyle changes as the era changes, and so does fashion. Women in 70s usually like to keep their hair long and do side parting as this was the trend.

Women’s hairstyle of 70s was simply about being hip and quite different from the sixties. The most famous hairstyle of 70s is the feathered hairstyle. The hair roller equipment was used almost whole day, to keep the hair looking flipped out. If you see a girl having hair on the nape of her neck left feathery and unstructured, then you can immediately say that it is the feathered hairstyle that was there in 70s.

We usually get impressed by the look of the model and their hairstyles. Seeing them, we come to know the latest trend and if we like it, we go for that. One of the famous personalities of the 70s era is Farrah Fawcett Major, who brought feathered look of a hair as a style and is popularly called feathered hairstyle, which was back in fashion. This look is very easy to develop and make. You can set this look by simply blowing your hair with a drier to move it in the up an down motion, then again blow-drying the hair around the face, in an out and up motion to create that soft feathered effect.

Hairstyle that had a natural look was in fashion. There were no more crave for poodle hair, pompadour, and bouffant. The women loved keeping their hair open, which flowed with the wind. Hair fashion in the 70s was simple, cool and even had the hypes. It was in 70s only that the blow drier was out and which had brought about a new innovation in the hair fashion. Then there was no longer the need of pinning the hair up, using roller to make curls etc. The women with the help of this revolutionary thing could make different hair styles as per their wish.

The long hair, and that too straight ones, were the demands of the 70s hair fashion by the women. To make them straight, the women would do anything. Since they had no straightening irons to straighten up their hair, they used an iron carefully, which are used for ironing clothes to straighten their hair.

Though the wind-blown straight style was a hair fashion of 70s, it does not mean that there were no other hairstyles. Some short hair styles that were popular are choppy layers, bangs, bob, and hair with ample definition. Afro and Shag are some of the hairstyles, which were also prevalent in the 70s. In case of a shag hairstyle, the hair is not cut in a regular layer pattern, but irregular so as to give shaggy look to your hair.

A common hairstyle for both the sexes is mullet haircut. In this type of haircut the hair would remain back at the long up to the shoulder and there was a cut given in the front side and the top. The teenyboppers were also a trend for the pageboy haircut.

Thus, though these were all retro hairstyles, it still gave a modern look. There are many straighter that you can use to make your hair smooth and straight. With this you can make up different hairstyles of 70s such as side parting, feathered look etc.
