70's fashion: Transition from the Earlier Styles

What is fashion? It is not just a mere word; it is basically a style and custom, which exists for a certain period of time. As soon as the era or decade changes the style and customs begin to fade away gradually. It never remains the same; but the fact is that it never vanishes totally, as it keeps coming back sooner or later. Most of the individuals have a thinking that fashion is linked only with the style of clothing. The fashion trends of 70s were a continuation of 60s, but with modification and more addition. The clothes that were popular in 70s were miniskirts, bell bottoms, Wide-legged, flared jeans and many more. The miniskirts were popular clothing seen within the females of 1970s; tie dye shirts and Mexican blouse still were popular even after the 60s. Disco was very popular in the 70s decade. The people usually wore attractive clothes, when they went to discos. Even the men had started becoming more fashionable and their clothing style also took a drastic change. They no longer liked wearing baggy jeans; instead they preferred tight shorts with loud prints and huge collars.

Though the craze for fashion lasts only for a short span of time, they are so effective that it tantalized the entire public. Another craze that people of 70s started developing (especially women) was sun tans. They even used false tan sprays and started to visit tanning parlors.
If we were to consider make-up this decade was not lagging behind any more. It was the decade that permitted the women to do something for them and their beauty. The eye make-up can not only change the beauty of your face, but also adds glamour to your face. The frosted lipsticks were most commonly used by women.

When you talk about fashion, how can you forget the jewelry or ornaments? They are precious elements for the women. Each decade has some special type of jewelry; likewise neon jewelry was very popular in 70s. They were simple and had a great look that pleased everyone eyes. Hence, there is no end to fashion and it is not confound to a society relating to age or class, but has a wide coverage.
